URL stands for Uniform Resource Locator. That's just a fancy name for a web page address. In the case of a MySpace profile page, it either looks like:
(The AAAAAA part, or the 999999 part will be different for your page.) In the registration form, you can type in (or paste in) the whole URL, or just the AAAAAA part, or just the 999999 part.
When you sign up, you'll see an image on the right with a series of random letters and numbers. Enter those into the box under it, where it says "Verify Image." This is to prove you're not a spam robot, but an actual, real-life person. If you can't figure out what the random letters/numbers are supposed to be, just click on the image and another one will be randomized for you.
Moving on, if you don't see all three green "ENTERED" messages on the page, there's something wrong with that section. Things should work out fine if you go back and check. (Note: If there's a "ENTERED" message under your e-mail address, that just means you entered it the same way twice. Double-check to make sure it's actually correct. Double check your MySpace URL as well.)
In order for StatSync to work, you have to link your MySpace page to StatSync. You do this by putting a tiny bit of program code anywhere on your MySpace page (the code that starts with "<Z>" and ends with "</a>"). This code does two things: it displays the StatSync logo on your MySpace profile, and it actually tracks your MySpace pageviews. Until you've successfully added the code to your MySpace page, the StatSync tracker can't work. That's why you're stuck at the Codes page. See the answer to the next question for step-by-step instructions on how to fix it.
The steps for inserting the StatSync tracker code into your MySpace profile page are as follows. It doesn't matter if you are inserting the code for the first time, or if you want to change it, or the code was lost and you want to re-insert it. The steps are the same.
That's it!
Again: It's easy to forget to click the "Save All Changes" button on MySpace (step 9). So, if you're still getting stuck, make sure to double-check that.
Simply edit your profile and paste the tracker code in it again. See the answer to the question above for how to do it, step by step.
Simply edit your profile and paste the tracker code in it again. Just be sure to delete the old tracker code, before inserting the new code in its place. See above for how to do it, step by step.
This is usually not a problem. The StatSync code merely has to be processed by the vistor's browser, but it doesn't actually have to be displayed. If your visitor is on a slow dial-up connection, and your visitor clicks on the red X button to stop the browser from processing your profile page half way through, then, yes, the visit might not be counted. Likewise, if your visitor clicks on a link that takes them off of your profile page before the browser can finish processing your profile page, then the visit might not be counted. Pasting the StatSync code somewhere in the About Me section of your profile usually works best to ensure that the visit is counted early enough.
Click on the "account" tab. In the box labeled "Stats," you'll see an option to update your picture/name. Click on that, and you can upload a new photo.
Our software occasionally has difficulty processing images, depending on how they were created. We're looking into it, but for now, you can try a different image. Remember that uploaded images must be a GIF, JPEG, or PNG file. You might also have trouble with large image files. If uploading a different image still doesn't work, then let us know and we'll give you further instructions.
It's supposed to be immediate, but sometimes there are communications glitches between us and PayPal and we don't get the right signal from PayPal. If the new features don't kick in, open a tech support ticket to let us know and we'll make the change.
